New AVURE High Pressure Processing (HPP) Testing and Tolling Center to Open in Florida
An Avure AV-40X HPP system has been installed and commissioned in the company’s new testing and HPP tolling facility at HPP Fresh Florida.
“Bartow is a great location not only for its geographical importance for serving the citrus industry in Florida, but also because of the vast amount of food and beverage production that exists in the region,” said Lisa Wessels, Marketing Director of Avure Technologies. “It’s exciting to see HPP Fresh Florida bring high pressure processing to the southeast and include Avure HPP machines as part of their strategy.”
The new state-of-the-art facility is equipped to initially process up to 40 million pounds per year of packaged products such as meats, wet salads, hummus, guacamole, spreads, ready meals, seafood and juices. The facility was designed to expand processing capabilities to 140 million lbs per year.
“HPP Fresh Florida was created to help food manufacturers develop products for todays’ consumer.” said Keith E. Sirois, COO of HPP Fresh Florida. “Our process gives customers the ability to extend shelf life without the use of chemicals and expand their markets. We can be the partner that opens up a whole new market for your products. If you are a regional product today, you can quickly become a national player with HPP. If you are national, we have seen products become international through HPP. ”
